Description

What kind of wine it is

Blumenfeld Gewürztraminer is a white wine produced in Alto Adige, made from the characteristic aromatic grape variety. It is a faithful expression of the variety, able to combine remarkable flavor volume with a pleasant freshness. The winemaking process is carefully designed to maintain the typical aromatic clarity of the style and ensures an enveloping and precise sip. It is a white wine capable of conveying the character of the territory and harmoniously balancing complexity and smoothness.

Origin

The grapes grow on steep, well-suited slopes located around the municipality of Bolzano. The harvest takes place between September and October, in an area long associated with Gewürztraminer cultivation, whose name refers to the village of Termeno. The influence of this distinctive South Tyrolean terroir promotes optimal ripening of the clusters and helps to shape a wine with pronounced aromatic breadth and a solid, well-defined taste structure.

How it is made

The cellar process begins with a short maceration of the grape clusters to extract the aromatic substances from the skins, followed by very gentle pressing. The subsequent fermentation of the must takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. This technical choice is fundamental to preserving the purity of aromas and enhancing the natural spicy notes of the grape variety while respecting its identity without alterations.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow color embellished with luminous golden highlights. The nose is intense, marked by clear varietal scents of rose, lychee, and grapefruit, intertwined with delicate nuances of lime, cinnamon, and clove. On the palate, it is distinctly smooth and fresh, enveloping the mouth with a well-calibrated flavorful texture and prolonging the persistence of every sip.

Food pairings

Its characteristics make it a perfect match for shellfish and allow enhancement of dishes where aromas play a key role. It pairs exceptionally well with the aromatic dishes of Asian cuisine, as its pronounced smoothness cleverly balances livelier spices. It also offers excellent pairings with fresh or semi-aged cheeses and enhances delicate preparations requiring harmony and persistence.

When to serve it

This Gewürztraminer is the recommended choice for convivial moments where an intense and defined aromatic profile is sought. Thanks to its ability to harmonize olfactory complexity and smoothness on the palate, it is enjoyable during lunches or dinners focused on spicy flavors and seafood. The interplay between volume and freshness makes it possible to appreciate it throughout the meal, from appetizers to main courses.
