Description

What kind of wine is it

The Gewürztraminer produced by Colterenzio is an aromatic and profound white wine, a true expression of the Alto Adige region. It stands out for its full and intense style, characterized by a distinct aromatic profile and a typical spicy finish. The production process involves a strict fermentation in steel to preserve the fruit's identity, along with a fundamental resting on fine lees. This technique gives the tasting structure greater body and an extremely precise definition.

Where it comes from

The vineyards dedicated to this label take root in a highly vocationed winegrowing terroir of Alto Adige. Gewürztraminer vines grow in specific soils characterized by the presence of clay and porphyritic gravel. This geological combination has a profound impact on what ends up in the glass, creating a precious material synergy. The clay component gives the sip a rich texture, while the porphyritic stones ensure clarity and a marked varietal definition that support a balance between intensity and finesse.

How it is produced

Vinification starts with a short cold maceration of the grapes, an essential step to delicately extract all the aromatic nuances of the variety. Afterwards, the must undergoes a gentle pressing before starting fermentation at a strictly controlled temperature of 18°C. The wine then matures on its fine lees until bottling. This targeted maturation ensures remarkable flavor continuity and a balanced structure that keeps the original character intact.

Tasting notes

In the glass, the wine shows a bright golden yellow color, anticipating a sip of great depth. The bouquet is a captivating weave featuring evident hints of yellow rose and exotic nuances of lychee and cloves. The aromatic development continues with suggestions of nutmeg, offering a clean and enveloping profile. On the palate, it opens full, supported by a structured texture that leads to a spicy finish, which lingers long while retaining great composure and elegance.

Pairings

This label is an ideal choice to start a meal and works beautifully as a fragrant aperitif with plenty of personality. At the table, the aromatic notes of Gewürztraminer harmonize perfectly with spiced appetizers to enhance dressings and complex sauces. Its natural gastronomic vocation also shines alongside refined seafood dishes and supports delicate and aromatic white meat preparations, always creating balanced and precise flavor contrasts.

Serving suggestions

It's suitable for gatherings and occasions where you want to present a structured and aromatic white wine. Its characteristics make it versatile, able to accompany the entire meal with ease, from appetizers to main courses. To fully appreciate its distinct aromatic identity and smooth palate, serve it at the right temperature in a convivial setting, so that the intriguing spicy notes emerge clearly, defining a technical and clean tasting experience.
