Description
The Taurasi Candriano is produced by Feudi di San Gregorio, one of the largest and most successful wineries in Campania, producing both white and red wines in Irpinia, a historic region of the Campanian Apennines in the province of Avellino. The "Feudi Studi" line is a limited edition that each year arises from the grapes of the most expressive vineyards selected from the 800 vineyards available to the company.
The wine is made exclusively from Aglianico grapes, which are first crushed and de-stemmed and then macerated and fermented in steel at 24°C for 10-20 days. During this period, pumping over is also carried out. The malolactic fermentation takes place in wood. The wine thus obtained is aged in French and Slavonian oak barriques of 20 hl for 12-18 months, followed by 24-36 months in bottle.
This wine presents an intense ruby red color, unveiling on the nose scents of blackberry and strawberry tree, gentian and chinotto. The sip is dry and balanced, with elegant tannins and a long finish.
Ideal to enjoy with grilled steak, stewed game, and aged cheeses.
