Taurasi DOCG Spalatrone 2010 Russo Taurasi

The Taurasi Spalatrone of the Russo Taurasi winery was born in vineyards cultivated on the hills of Irpinia, in the Carazita area.

It is produced with pure Aglianico grapes, harvested late during the month of November. After a long maceration in steel, which leaves the freshness characteristics of the grape unaltered, the wine ages partly in small French oak barrels and partly in Slavonian oak barrels for a period of about 24 - 30 months. Maturation is completed with bottle aging.

Taurasi Spalatrone is an impenetrable red wine with evident violet reflections. The nose opens with intense hints of red fruits, nuances of balsamic spices and notes of coconut and vanilla. In the mouth it has an excellent structure, with a long persistence and slightly tannic finish.

Perfect to accompany courses with red meats, game and game, it is ideal in combination with seasoned cheeses typical of traditional Irpinia cuisine.
