Description
What type of wine is it?
Toscana Bianco Vallepicciola is a white wine made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Produced by the Vallepicciola winery, it stands out for its rich and elegant style. Its flavor profile is defined by meticulous vinification in different containers, offering depth and precision on the palate—an ideal characteristic for supporting noteworthy food pairings.
Where does it come from?
The grapes are sourced from the vigneto Poggione vineyard, located in the hilly landscape of Pievasciata, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. This specific geographical area of Tuscany gives the Chardonnay a clear and distinctive regional expression. The environment fosters balanced ripening to ensure the aromatic intensity that defines the wine’s character.
How is it made?
Vinification is split between two different vessels: part of the must ferments in concrete, while the remainder ferments in tonneaux. After this process, the aging phase takes place entirely in barriques for 12 months. This precise technical choice is aimed at balancing freshness with structure to integrate roundness and complex flavor nuances.
Tasting notes
In the glass, the wine displays an intense straw yellow color. The aromatic profile is defined by clear scents of apricot and peach, accompanied by vibrant tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit. On the palate, it reveals itself as rich and elegant, supported by an enveloping texture that offers a pleasant continuity of flavor through to the finish.
Pairings
On the table, the characteristics of this white wine make it a perfect match for grilled swordfish, a choice that enhances the dish’s structure thanks to the wine’s soft and profound sip. Its elegance also allows it to harmoniously accompany dishes enhanced with white truffle, as it supports earthy aromas without ever overpowering the palate.
When to serve it
This white wine is excellent for special dinners or structured courses where a wine with a defined identity is required. The balanced effect of wood aging makes it especially recommended for those who appreciate a full and well-balanced wine. It represents an intentional choice to enhance fish-based menus or dishes with persistent flavors.
