Description
Produced in the municipality of Suvereto, Tuscany, the Cabraia from the Gualdo del Re winery is a red wine made from a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are rooted in soils composed of clay, stone, and silt, elements that provide structure and character to the wine.
The winemaking process involves alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. The aging takes place in new and second-pass barriques for about fifteen months, followed by an additional resting period in the bottle of at least twelve months, allowing the wine to develop elegance and complexity.
Visually, it presents an intense ruby color with violet reflections. The aromatic profile is rich and harmonious, with fruity notes of blackberry and blueberry intertwined with spicy hints of vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, it is structured and refined, with a dense tannic texture and soft tannins that accompany a long gustatory persistence.
It pairs perfectly with roasts, grilled red meats, aged cheeses, and blue cheeses.
