Description

Tramonto d’Oca is a red wine of great character produced by Poggio Bonelli in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the Siena area. It is made from Petit Verdot grapes grown in vineyards located between 320 and 360 meters above sea level, where the climate and exposure favor complete ripening and remarkable aromatic concentration.

Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with extended maceration on the skins after fermentation. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by a long resting period in bottle to achieve balance and complexity.

It shows an intense ruby red color, enhanced by garnet hues due to the extended aging. On the nose it offers complex aromas of red fruit jam, sweet spices, pepper, cinnamon, tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, it is progressive, persistent, and enveloping, with elegant tannins and a deep finish.

It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, braised dishes, aged cheeses, and rich Tuscan cuisine.
