Description

What kind of wine is it

Umbria Grechetto produced by Còlpetrone is a white wine with a balanced and harmonious profile, made from a blend of Grechetto and Chardonnay. Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks guarantees a clean style, focused on freshness. After vinification, prolonged contact with the lees helps define its structure and extend its persistence on the palate.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Umbria, in the municipality of Gualdo Cattaneo, from vines grown on the Perugian hills. The hilly position of the vineyards gives the grapes a distinctive and consistent character, true to the identity of a white wine that emphasizes precision. The strong bond with the land is revealed through an evident mineral note, making it an authentic and recognizable expression of its region of origin.

How it is produced

The manual harvest allows careful grape selection directly in the vineyard. After picking, Grechetto and Chardonnay grapes are gently pressed, followed by cold decanting of the must to achieve optimal clarification. Fermentation in stainless steel at low temperatures preserves the natural aromatic clarity. The process concludes with three months’ contact with the lees, giving balance without sacrificing freshness.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows a bold straw-yellow color, a sign of good visual definition. The nose opens with clear floral notes, outlining a straightforward and orderly bouquet. On the palate, it confirms a harmonious and composed character, thanks to a discreet structure supported by a pleasant mineral streak, guiding the tasting towards a precise and flowing finish.

Pairings

Its clean approach and vibrancy make it suitable with starters and first courses of Umbrian tradition, without overpowering the flavors. The perfect pairing is with strangozzi alla spoletina, a recipe that enhances its structural harmony. It is also great for pairing with white meats, delicately flavored seafood dishes, and medium-aged cheeses.

When to serve

It is especially enjoyable during a lunch or informal dinner that requires consistent pairings from starters to main courses. Its smoothness makes it pleasant to drink with fish-based dishes or simple recipes. If served at the right temperature, it is the ideal opportunity to enjoy a territorial expression with clear technical precision.
