Description
La Forcallà de Antonia is a red wine produced in the southeast of Spain, in Fontanars dels Alforins, in the Valencia region. It is made from Forcallà vines over 50 years old, grown at 700 meters altitude on sandy soils, without irrigation, on small terraces farmed organically. This native variety, almost extinct due to its late ripening and low alcohol content, has been revived by Rafael Cambra to enhance local winemaking tradition.
Winemaking involves a two-week maceration, with 50% whole bunches, in small steel vats. After fermentation, the wine matures for ten months in large barrels, maintaining a natural approach respectful of the grape's identity. Yields are very low and production is limited.
In the glass, it appears a brilliant and intense cherry red. Its bouquet is elegant, with notes of cherry and ripe fruit, accompanied by a subtle hint of wood. On the palate, it stands out for its silky, fleshy tannins and an inviting expression of juicy, ripe fruit, giving the wine a harmonious and captivating drinkability.
Perfect paired with roasted or grilled white meats.
