Description
The Valtellina Superiore Inferno is a red wine produced by the Aldo Rainoldi Winery, a historic reality in Lombardy founded in 1925. Made with Nebbiolo grapes, locally known as Chiavennasca, it comes from vineyards located between 350 and 550 meters above sea level in the municipalities of Montagna in Valtellina, Poggiridenti, and Tresivio, where the terroir enhances the unique character of this grape variety.
The winemaking process involves aging in large oak barrels for about 20 months, followed by a blending in steel tanks for two months before bottling. The wine then rests in bottles for six months in cool, dark cellars, developing complexity and balance before commercialization.
Of ruby red color, it stands out for its fine and complex aroma, with hints of currant, walnut, black pepper, and alpine herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, with a good persistence and a structure that ensures excellent longevity.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, and first courses with meat sauces, offering a rich and satisfying tasting experience.
