A magnificent cuvée which, in its perfect balance between freshness and aroma, is the very quintessence of Alto Adige: without a doubt one of Blumenfeld's most successful labels.
Description
What kind of wine is it
Blumenfeld's Cuvée Weiss is a white wine classified as Vigneti delle Dolomiti, created from a blend of aromatic white grape varieties grown in the Adige Valley. This label is vinified in separate tanks at a controlled temperature to fully preserve the varietal aromas, and is then blended after several months of maturation in stainless steel. Its profile is fresh, distinctly aromatic, and remarkably persistent, outlining a harmonious style that is ideal for naturally accompanying meals and convivial moments.
Where does it come from
The grapes used in the production of this wine come from vineyards situated in the heart of the Strada del Vino, the historic wine route that runs between the towns of Termeno and Caldaro. The Vigneti delle Dolomiti designation locates its origin in a terroir highly suited for growing white grape varieties, which are capable of delivering an intense expression of primary aromas. This specific territorial placement defines a clear provenance, consistent with a structural freshness and an unmistakable aromatic profile.
How is it produced
The grape clusters are carefully handpicked and selected as they reach perfect ripeness between the end of September and early October. Each separate variety is vinified in individual tanks, with temperature control during fermentation to keep the must’s aromas intact and vibrant. At the end of fermentation, the wine ages in stainless steel for several months before the final blend is created, ensuring a precise balance of aromatic components without the use of barrels.
Tasting notes
In the glass, the wine reveals a bright straw yellow hue with golden highlights, with a clear and consistent color. On the nose, it develops an intense and complex bouquet, featuring alternating aromas reminiscent of rose, grapefruit, tomato leaf, and subtle hints of nutmeg. On the palate, the entry is immediate and vibrant, leading to a linear and clean progression, with a finish that offers long persistence and total continuity between the bouquet and taste.
Food pairing
This aromatic white wine is perfect as a fragrant aperitif, as it is smooth, prepares the palate, and maintains remarkable lightness. At the table, it pairs especially well with shellfish-based dishes, thanks to its pronounced aromatic character which complements the sweet tendency of shellfish meat. It is also an interesting match for classic risotto alla milanese, where the wine’s structure supports the creamy consistency and sweet spices of the dish.
When to serve it
Tasting this Vigneti delle Dolomiti offers its fullest expression when seeking a wine that is immediately enjoyable and pleasantly drinkable, with a strong focus on aromatic definition. It is the perfect choice for convivial occasions, as it accompanies meals where freshness and intense aromatics play the leading role. Served at the right temperature to preserve its aromatic nuances, it offers a sense of roundness in the glass and a delightful balance of flavors.
