Description

What kind of wine is it?

Mauro by Bodegas Mauro is a red wine produced in Castilla y León exclusively from Tempranillo grapes. It is characterized by a structured and compact style that offers a medium body and a well-defined tannic texture. The profile maintains a precise balance between fruity and spicy components, faithfully reflecting the characteristics of the grape variety and its land of origin.

Where does it come from?

This red is crafted in the Castilla y León region, a Spanish area historically devoted to characterful viticulture. The vineyards cover about ninety hectares with vines averaging thirty-five years in age. The vines are cultivated using the traditional goblet training system and are rooted in calcareous and clay soils, which are decisive in shaping the tension on the palate.

How is it made?

After careful selection, the grapes are kept at low temperatures before fermentation in vats. The process uses native yeasts and includes a three-week skin maceration and frequent pump-overs to optimize extraction. Maturation continues for up to fifteen months in French and American oak barrels, which round out the tannins while respecting the fruit.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color. The aromatic profile opens with clear notes of ripe cherry, spices, and undergrowth, enriched by pleasant touches of vanilla and graphite. On the palate, it is enveloping and balanced, supported by a beautiful tannic texture that leads the sip to a long and precisely defined finish.

Pairings

Thanks to its body, this wine expresses itself naturally alongside dishes featuring game and intense grilled meats. It is equally effective with aged cheeses and generous charcuterie boards. The spicy notes and lingering taste help to balance the succulence of the most flavorful recipes, ensuring a stable pairing.

When to serve it

It is an excellent choice to enhance dining occasions focused on meat dishes or assortments of cured meats. Its embracing character and precise sip make it ideal for convivial moments when a red wine of good aromatic intensity is desired. It offers a consistent taste experience that enhances traditional barbecues and maintains its balance from the beginning to the end of the meal.
