Armagnac is France’s oldest wine-based spirit, produced in the historic region of Gascony. The territory is divided into three distinct production zones, classified by soil characteristics: Bas-Armagnac – known for the most refined and smooth Armagnacs, considered the finest; Ténarèze – a balanced and structured style; Haut-Armagnac – the least common production area. Produced through continuous distillation, Armagnacs age for long periods in oak barrels, where they develop and enhance the typical aromas of their terroir. Some bottles feature a vintage label, indicating that the spirit was made exclusively from wines of a single harvest.
