The history of the Mazzei family begins as early as the 11th century and is closely linked not only to the Tuscan wine-making tradition, but also to the whole cultural life of the region. Since their origins, in fact, the Mazzei have been working as winemakers and are important figures in Florentine society. The real turning point will come with the acquisition of Zisola , in the Sicilian municipality of Noto in Sicily, which, due to the climatic conditions, the mild temperatures, the hilly lands, the light sea breeze and the sun, represents the perfect environment for cultivation of the vine and the production of wine. It is from such a unique and special terroir that wines of the caliber of Azisa come to life, which means "splendid" in Sicilian, a blend of Catarratto and Grillo grapes, a riot of freshness and minerality, passing through Doppiozeta , a very original blend of Nero d 'Avola, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, with an overwhelming olfactory bouquet, with strong fruity and spicy notes. How not to mention Zisola, an intense red wine, which enchants the nose with hints of berries, enriched with citrus notes.
