Where once was a densely populated village, today the historical memory of Chianti Classico is still preserved at Lamole di Lamole innovative winery. Its story dates back to the origin of Castello di Lamole and its historic wine cellar from 1300. Today, the best Sangiovese clones are created there with great commitment and advanced technology. A modern wine cellar processes organic grapes and select them through optical sorting, using wood not to affect the grapes and preserve the original taste. The vineyards, located between 400 and 655 metres above sea level, are influenced by cool currents, enjoy excellent exposure and benefit from the continental climate thanks to a considerable difference in temperature range and the combination of alberese and galestro in the soil. A very remarkable wine, simply because of its origin.
Following these premises, the most authentic versions of Sangiovese are best expressed in representative wines such as the Chianti Classico, refined and with floral aromas, and the Chianti Classico Etichetta Blu with its smooth, dense tannin, the Chianti Classico Riserva (JR’s score: 17 points), aged in barrel for 26 months, with notes of violet, bark and humus, well balanced and with a great impact on the palate.
