The Maison was officially founded in 1955, but it was in 1933 that Gervais Gobillard, pioneer of the company, decided to buy the first two hectares of vineyards, a heroic undertaking considering the unfavorable social context of the time. It was a time when only the Grand Marque Champagne Houses were successful, while the small independent houses struggled and mostly returned to farming to make a living. Only thanks to hard work, perseverance and the production of great champagnes, the family business has survived and today it is a thriving reality, still family-run, boasting a wine heritage made up of 30 hectares, mainly located in the Premier cru of Hautvillers .

With numerous awards and gold medals for Gobillard's champagnes, Champagne Brut Baron de Marck is a well-kept and little-known secret. The blend is typical of high-end champagne: one-third each of Chardonnay , Meunier and Pinot Noir . The vinification is the classic one of the Champenoise method and the aging on the lees is 15 months. Straw yellow in color and a fine and persistent perlage. The nose reveals aromas of white and yellow flowers, yellow plum and pear. The sip is fresh and creamy, with a persistent finish.
