The history of this rum originated in 1939 , when the Botrans, a family of Spanish emigrants, started the distillation activity in Guatemala , in the city of Quetzaltenango, which rises at 2300 meters above sea level, in a region considered ideal for the cultivation of sugar cane and for the aging of rum. Thus was born the distillery which will become known as Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, the same one that produces the famous Ron Zacapa , with which Botran has in common the assembly according to the "solera method" , a true Spanish heritage of the family, and the raw material , consisting of pure sugar cane juice .

Among the premium rums in the range, the soft and complex Solera 1893 stands out, a refined blend of rums aged from 5 to 18 years, and Reserva , from rums aged up to 15 years, excellent as a smooth or as a base for the creation of sophisticated cocktails , mixed with bubbles or juices and red fruit syrups.
