Donnafugata was born in 1983 from an experience of over 160 years in the world of wine and its philosophy is based on quality and respect for the territory and its potential . The company's wines, which stand out for their pleasantness and complexity, perfectly interpret the spirit of Sicily and are capable of convincing and making those who taste them happy .

The logo and the name of the company, literally "Donna in Fuga" , refer to the story of Queen Maria Carolina who, at the beginning of the 19th century, fled from Naples to take refuge in Sicily, escaping the invasion of Napoleonic troops.
