Il Borro

Il Borro is located in a valley located between Pratomagno and the Chianti hills, and is a cutting-edge agricultural company, totally organic and eco-sustainable, also using biodynamic practices.

In the vineyards between 350 and 500 meters above sea level, where mild winters and ideal exposure combine with a soil rich in marine fossils, native vines, such as Sangiovese, but also vines that have now entered the Tuscan tradition such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah coexist today, expressing their qualities at their best.

From the hand-picked grapes and the berries selected with a fiber optic reader, and from the vinification and aging in oak barrels for single vineyards or vineyard plots, fine wines such as Il Borro Toscana IGT are obtained, velvety and almost opulent thanks to aging aged 18 months, the Sangiovese Polissena , a masterful example of pure Sangiovese, and the Sangiovese Petruna fermented and macerated in amphora to express all the character of this Tuscan red.

Borrigiano is the first wine from the Il Borro winery to obtain the Valdarno di Sopra DOC appellation and organic certification.

It is obtained from bunches of Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot, harvested at the right degree of ripeness and subjected to a cooling phase in wooden vats aimed at preserving the quality and aromatic complexity of the individual varieties.
