Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a complex grape, ripens early and is very sensitive to its terroir of origin . It is a red grape variety originating from Burgundy , considered among the most elegant and refined for its seductive aromas , pale color and silky tannins .

In Italy the most popular areas are Trentino-Alto Adige and Oltrepò Pavese , but also the Colli Piacentini, Friuli, Veneto and, to a lesser extent, Tuscany. The land of choice for Pinot Noir is, however, undoubtedly Burgundy , in particular the Côte d'Or , where the best Pinot Noir in the world are produced, and Champagne , where it is usually made into white sparkling wine. However, Pinot Noir is widespread in various parts of the world, vinified with ever greater success despite its complex nature. In Europe it is widespread in Germany , Austria , Switzerland and Romania , where the cool climates guarantee the perfect evolution of the perfumes. It is also cultivated in the United States ( Oregon and California ), Canada, South Africa, Australia (Victoria) and New Zealand (Central Otago, Marborough).

It is a very delicate grape, considered among the most difficult but also the most aristocratic, as it manages to excel in refinement thanks to an extremely fine aromatic profile, with notes of small berries and floral notes of rose, jasmine and violet . With aging , the aromas of Pinot Noir acquire complexity, transforming into balsamic and spicy tones of moss and undergrowth, resin, incense, roasting and leather. The sip is fresh, rich and persistent, with delicate tannins and a pleasant freshness. An intrinsically noble and elegant wine .
