Prominent reality in the Sicilian territory, Tasca d'Almerita boasts over two hundred years of history. The farm is divided into five estates, the oldest of which is Regaleali , which with its vineyards that follow one another on 6 hills, interspersed with wheat fields, almond groves, pastures is considered a real 'landscape of the soul '.
Here, where the characteristic warm sun of Sicily meets the cold of the continental climate of the Madonite peaks, some of the wines that have made the history of Sicilian viticulture were born. From the San Lucio vineyard, planted in 1959, Il Rosso del Conte is born, an assembly of Nero d'Avola and Perricone, it is remembered as the first Sicilian cru, a pioneering choice also adopted for two other of the most appreciated labels of the Estate: Chardonnay and the Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in the Vigna San Francesco in 1985. The Golden Wedding (92 pt JS) also dates back to these years, from the union of Inzolia and Sauvignon Tasca, characterized by an original stylistic code that combines the Sicilian natives with international varieties. Also try the Passito Diamante (96 pt LM) , a wine of great density with hints of dried fruit and candied fruit, pleasantly fresh and perfect for aged cheeses.
