Description

What kind of wine is it

The Barolo Riserva from Batasiolo is a red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes. It shows an intense garnet red color with delicate orange highlights and a mature-leaning aromatic profile. The style is full and supple, with a satisfying sense of completeness on the palate.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the Barolo production area, in the Langhe of Piedmont. The harvest is manual and takes place in the first half of October. Nebbiolo, picked at full ripeness, gives a structured wine with a strong identity.

How it is made

After destemming, the grapes ferment in stainless steel at controlled temperature, with a 10–12 day maceration on the skins and frequent pump-overs. The wine ages for at least eighteen months in Slavonian oak, then continues in steel. Bottle aging completes the maturation.

Tasting notes

The color is a deep garnet red with orange reflections. The nose is broad and mature: jam, hazelnut, toasted notes and flowers, well developed. On the palate it is soft and enveloping, supported by good structure and by tannins and freshness in harmony, for a full, substantial sip.

Food pairing

It pairs with red meats, game and roasts, but also with cheeses and cured meats. It is much appreciated by those who love full-bodied and velvety wines, and it is also excellent as a wine for contemplation.

When to serve it

It’s a red for special-occasion meals and for after-dinner, when you want a wine to sip at leisure. It’s best to open the bottle a little in advance and serve it in a large-bowled glass. Thanks to its structure, it is also suitable for cellaring.
