Description
What kind of wine is it
The Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova by Casanova di Neri is a red wine made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes. It shows a deep, dark red color and a Mediterranean character, with full body and ripe tannins. It brings together structure and a lively acid tension, for a wine of great completeness.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the vineyards of Casanova di Neri in Montalcino, Tuscany. Tenuta Nuova expresses the Mediterranean character of Sangiovese from this area, with a profile of body and ripeness. The winery is based at Podere Fiesole, in the municipality of Montalcino.
How it is made
The grapes are hand-selected before and after destemming, with the help of an optical sorter. Fermentation takes place without added yeasts, with a maceration supported by frequent punch-downs. Everything unfolds over twenty-four days in truncated-cone stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. Harvesting is manual.
Tasting notes
The color is a deep dark red. The nose offers notes of blackberry, dark chocolate, incense, and rosemary. The palate is full-bodied, with ripe tannins and lively tension. The finish is rich and long, defined by a vibrant acidity that brings freshness to each sip.
What to pair it with
It pairs well with red meats grilled or braised, with game and roasts. It also accompanies aged cheeses. Its full structure and lively acidity stand up to rich, flavorful dishes.
When to serve it
It is a red for special occasions, when you want a full-bodied Brunello to share at the table. Best enjoyed in a large-bowled glass, opening the bottle a little in advance to let the aromas unfold. Its rich yet fresh profile also makes it suitable for cellar aging.
