Description

Esporão Reserva Branco is a white wine made exclusively from grapes grown in the vineyards of Herdade do Esporão, Portugal. The soil, comprising granite and schist over a clay-sandy base, hosts vines aged between 18 and 28 years. The blend consists of Antão Vaz, Arinto, and Roupeiro—traditional varieties that fully express the character of the Alentejo region.

After harvest, the grapes are destemmed, cold clarified, macerated on the skins, pressed, and decanted. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, with 75% in stainless steel and 25% in new American and French barriques. Maturation continues for six months on fine lees in the same fermentation containers, adding complexity and structure to the wine.

To the eye, it is crystal clear, with golden reflections. The bouquet is intense and spicy, with notes of white-fleshed fruit, citrus, and orange blossom. The palate is full, oily, and persistent, with a long and vibrant finish, well balanced by a refreshing acidity.

It pairs perfectly with flavorful fish dishes, grilled white meats, or soft cheeses.
