Südtirol - Alto Adige DOC Castel Giovanelli Chardonnay 2013 Cantina Caldaro

Chardonnay Castel Giovanelli was born in the vineyards of the Kellerei Kaltern winery, located in Caldaro, in the heart of South Tyrol. This wine represents one of the company cru.

Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, harvested and selected by hand, the must is left to macerate cold for several hours, before starting the fermentation phase in tonneaux. It is then left to mature for 10 months in wooden barrels, where it acquires and stabilizes its organoleptic characteristics.

It has a straw yellow color with golden reflections. The nose offers a very interesting fruity aroma, with notes of pineapple, Mirabella plum and maracuja which blend intensely with woody hints, conferred by the permanence in the barrel. On the palate it shows a solid structure, well supported by a good acidic vein and mineral and fruity aftertaste of great value.

Excellent with appetizers and first courses based on fish, it seems perfect to accompany a good roasted fish or on the grill.
