Description
Garesio's Barolo di Serralunga d'Alba was born in the Langa, in the province of Cuneo. In 2010 the Garesio family bought 20 hectares which they dedicated to viticulture, divided between Serralunga d'Alba, Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato and Perletto in Alta Langa.
The wine is made up exclusively of Nebbiolo grapes, vinified with maceration on the skins at a low temperature for approx. 35 days, with pumping over and délestage and the last 15 days with submerged cap. The wine then ages in Austrian oak barrels of different sizes for 18-30 months with subsequent passage in cement tanks.
Brilliant ruby red in colour, the nose reveals a bouquet of fruity aromas with strawberry and cherry, as well as notes of licorice. The sip is fresh and elegant, with delicate tannins and a persistent finish.
The wine goes very well with roast guinea fowl or stuffed veal pocket.
