Description

What kind of wine is it?

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna le Macchiarelle by Fanti is a Tuscan red wine made from Sangiovese grapes. This wine is produced exclusively in the best vintages and faithfully represents its terroir. Its style combines a dark aromatic profile with a solid gustatory structure, offering an enveloping experience. Its maturation process rightly places it among the full-bodied reds, perfect for slow and contemplative tasting.

Where does it come from?

The estate is located in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, on the southern slope of the picturesque Montalcino hill, an area characterized by a mild, temperate climate. The property covers two hundred and sixty hectares, about fifty of which are entirely dedicated to vineyards. The soil stands out for its high concentration of galestro and alberese rocks, ideal formations for vine cultivation. The wine originates from Vigna le Macchiarelle, a parcel that enhances the virtues of this specific slope.

How is it produced?

Vinification begins with fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, crucial for preserving freshness and aromatic purity. After this, the wine rests for twenty-four months in French oak tonneaux, a key phase for integrating spices and developing the tannins. The whole process concludes with a further thirty months of bottle aging, thus creating a structural balance destined to last over time.

Tasting notes

Poured in the glass, the wine displays an intense ruby red color with elegant garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers a well-defined bouquet, dominated by aromas of black fruits, licorice, anise, and cloves, enriched by subtle hints of undergrowth. On the palate, it reveals depth and elegance, supported by firm and enveloping tannins that guide the sip. The finish is very persistent, echoing the spicy notes detected on the nose.

Food pairings

The solid character of this red demands dishes that can match its aromatic intensity and tannic structure. The ideal pairing is with roasted and stewed game dishes, where flavorful meats strike a perfect balance with the wine's vigor. Earthy notes and dark fruit intertwine beautifully with long-cooked sauces and rich stews. It is thus the top choice to enhance hearty meat mains, offering a harmonious and memorable pairing.

When to serve it

Its decisive enological character makes this the perfect bottle for special occasions and meals calling for a wine of great stature. Thanks to its elaborate maturation, it expresses a profound personality that captivates from the first sip. Allowing it to breathe in the glass reveals each fruity and balsamic nuance. Ideal for a dedicated tasting moment, it fully satisfies those who appreciate wines with marked ageing potential.
