Description
Pegaso Granito is a red wine produced by Telmo Rodríguez in the village of Cebreros, in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, made exclusively from Garnacha grapes sourced from two selected plots: El Robledillo and El Mojón. The vines, very old and low yielding, are cultivated and harvested by hand in small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit.
Vinification takes place with indigenous yeasts and the wine is aged for a period between 18 and 24 months in French oak barrels from different forests. This lengthy maturation allows the wine to develop complexity and harmony, while respecting the characteristics of the grape variety and the terroir. The soils are granitic, of magmatic origin, shallow, with low water retention and located at altitudes between 800 and 1000 meters.
In the glass it shows a vertical and vibrant profile, with present but well-integrated tannins supported by a lively freshness. On the nose and palate, intense notes of wild berries, blackthorn and blueberries emerge, accompanied by delicate floral hints and mountain herbs, for a balanced and juicy tasting experience.
It pairs beautifully with grilled red meats or roasted game.
