Description
The 2016 Vintage of Louis Roederer is an elegant and vibrant Champagne, a tribute to the Pinot Noir of Montagne de Reims. The grapes come from the prestigious vineyards of Verzy and Chouilly, purchased by the Maison in the mid-19th century.
This Champagne is composed of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with part of the wines aged in wood and a partial malolactic fermentation. It represents an extraordinary interpretation of the Pinot Noir from Verzy, capturing the essence of the terroir of Montagne de Reims.
In appearance, it presents a brilliant golden hue and a finely effervescent, regular, and dynamic bubbling. On the nose, it offers a toasty and powdery bouquet, with aromas of sweet and juicy red fruits, such as cherries and currants, combined with notes of candied citrus, dried fruit, and delicate hints of roasting. With aeration, mineral hints of gypsum and limestone emerge. On the palate, it is complex and generous, with a creamy and silky texture that gently envelops the palate, accompanied by spicy and woody notes. The finish is long, salty, and savory, with a pleasant grainy sensation.
This Champagne is ideal for pairing with fish dishes or white meats, or to be enjoyed during moments of celebration, highlighting its aromatic richness and refinement.
