Description

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Contessa di Radda by Geografico is a wine that celebrates the millennial history of Chianti Classico, inspired by the legendary figure of Willa of Tuscany. Made from a carefully selected blend of Sangiovese and a small percentage of Colorino, it expresses the purity and elegance of the Radda in Chianti territory, highlighting the authentic character of this noble denomination.

The grapes are hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by a maceration period of about 20 days to extract color and tannins. The wine is then aged for at least 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels, developing structure and complexity. Finally, it continues its maturation in the bottle, attaining a perfect balance between intensity and harmony.

It reveals an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet is rich and layered, with aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry, violet, tobacco, and spices. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied and elegant sip, with firm yet velvety tannins and an aromatic profile that ranges between cherry, raspberry, licorice, and dark chocolate. The finish is long and persistent, with emerging notes of red fruits and spices.

It pairs wonderfully with stews, truffles, and aged cheeses.
