Description
Monteraponi's Chianti Classico originates from vineyards located near the municipality of Radda in Chianti.
It is composed of 95% Sangiovese, while the remaining 5% is Colorino. The vines used are 15 years old and are situated at an altitude between 450 and 570 meters above sea level. The soil is rocky, defined by a strong limestone component. The grapes are vinified in vitrified cement tanks, where indigenous yeasts spontaneously trigger both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. This is followed by a 16-month aging period in large oval wooden barrels. A final period of 1 month in cement tanks completes the development of this wine.
Ruby red in color, it greets the nose with a broad and enticing bouquet, delivering notes of wild berries, black pepper, and wet earth. On the palate, it is generous and mineral, characterized by velvety tannins and a long, pleasant finish.
Perfect to pair with a dish of pici with meat ragout.
