Description

The Chianti Classico from Tenuta Poggio Bonelli is an authentic red wine that represents the character of Sangiovese in the territory of Castelnuovo Berardenga. Produced mainly from Sangiovese grapes with a small percentage of other red grapes permitted by the regulations, it comes from hillside vineyards located between 280 and 320 meters above sea level.

Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures, with daily pump-overs during fermentation. After fermentation, the wine continues maceration on the skins and ages for 10 months in French oak barrels of second and third passage, followed by a prolonged rest in the bottle.

It shows a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals clear and typical aromas of cherry, plum, and sweet spices, while on the palate it is full, complex, and supported by dense and mature tannins, with a rich, fresh, and pleasantly crunchy finish.

It pairs well with pasta dishes with meat sauces, Tuscan cold cuts, grilled meats, roasts, noble poultry, and semi-aged cheeses.
