Description
What kind of wine is it?
Muruasiccu's Etna Rosato is a Sicilian rosé wine made from Nerello Mascalese grapes, grown on the volcano's picturesque slopes. The winemaking process, which involves very rapid maceration in the press , gives the wine a linear and highly drinkable profile. The result is a simple sip, characterized by pleasant aromas of small red fruits and a measured finish.
Where does it come from?
This wine is produced on the volcanic soils of Mount Etna, specifically between the towns of Passopisciaro and Santo Spirito. The lava soils are the distinctive feature of this area and lend a distinct territorial character to the rosé. The vineyards' unique location defines a distinct Sicilian viticultural environment, capable of conveying a distinct freshness and precise flavor in the glass.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest in early October, followed by a gentle pressing of the bunches. After a very rapid maceration, the must is clarified through cold decantation and fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks for at least fifteen days. The process concludes with a minimum of five months of aging in steel, followed by a further three months in the bottle .
Tasting notes
On the palate, the wine reveals a delicate pale pink color , the result of measured contact with the skins. On the nose, it opens with a clear bouquet featuring direct notes of small red fruits , maintaining a simple and clean structure. On the palate, the sip is fresh and smooth, offering a balance that enhances drinkability and guarantees a discreet persistence right through to the finish.
What does it pair with?
This rosé pairs harmoniously with light appetizers and typical vegetarian dishes. Its freshness makes it a perfect companion for dishes that require a clean palate, complementing them harmoniously. It also pairs excellently with a selection of fresh and semi-mature cheeses , where the clean finish balances the softness of the dairy products and offers a pleasant balance of flavors .
When to serve it
This rosé's presentation makes it the ideal choice for convivial occasions and to accompany a light meal. It's particularly appreciated in warm weather , when a smooth drink is desired. Thanks to its maturation in the tank and bottle, the wine maintains a marked expressive readiness that favors ease of drinking. Served well chilled , it expresses itself with regularity and consistency from the beginning to the end of the meal.
