Description
The Pinot Nero Primont of Bosco del Merlo is born in the vineyards of Sequals, at the foot of the Friulian Dolomites, at an altitude of 270 meters. The name "Primont" pays homage to Primo Carnera, a boxer from Sequals known as "the walking mountain"; just as Carnera used to say, "The punches come from the feet," for this wine, it is the territory that determines its strength and uniqueness. The soil, rich in pebbles, and the significant temperature variations create an ideal microclimate for the optimal ripening of the grapes, promoting a balance between acidity and structure.
In the winery, the grapes are vinified with fermentation in contact with the skins at controlled temperatures between 13 and 15 degrees, with daily pump-overs for a delicate extraction of polyphenols. After alcoholic fermentation, the malolactic fermentation follows in stainless steel, and then the wine ages for six months. This process enhances the natural fruity and spicy expression of the grape variety, maintaining finesse and balance.
It presents itself to the eye with a light red color with garnet hues. The aroma is elegant, dominated by small berries such as currants and raspberries, with pleasant spicy accents. The taste is harmonious and fine, with good sapidity, a slight acidity, and a well-defined tannic structure, which give balance and persistence to the finish.
It pairs excellently with meat dishes like herb-crusted lamb or aged cheeses.
