Gattinara DOCG Osso San Grato 2015 Antoniolo
Description
"Osso San Grato" is the name of a Gattinara signed Antoniolo, but it is also the name of the vineyard from which this important red wine originates. In the northern area of Piedmont, near the town of Gattinara, a Nebbiolo red wine is produced from this Cru that has nothing to envy to the expressiveness of the Langa, further south.
The Nebbiolo grapes are harvested in October and sent for winemaking which, after going through the pressing, maceration and fermentation practices, ends with a refinement of 36 months in large barrels.
At sight it is ruby red, embellished with very bright garnet shades. The perfume plays on the complexity given by the red fruit, the flower and the spices: rose petals, violet, flint and black pepper follow one another in a bouquet that also opens up to rare balsamic hues. In the mouth it is full-bodied, fresh and managed in an evident but very fine tannic texture. It persists in a toasted and spicy aromatic interweaving.
Excellent with grilled or stewed red meats, it is ideal in the company of game or aged cheeses. To be combined with a donkey stew.
