Description
This Gigondas by Victor Berard originates in the heart of the southern Rhône Valley, on alluvial soils rich in red clay and stones, which promote the optimal ripening of the grapes. Predominantly composed of Grenache Noir, with Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault, it expresses all the power and generosity of this prestigious appellation.
The winemaking follows a traditional method with a long fermentation on the skins, allowing for maximum extraction of aromas and structure. The aging takes place in wooden barrels, an essential step to round off the tannins and give the wine greater complexity and aromatic depth.
It presents itself with an intense and deep purple color. The bouquet is rich and expressive, with spicy notes and hints of plum and blackcurrant that amplify with oxygenation. On the palate, it is powerful and warm, with flavors of candied dark fruit and an imposing structure that gives the wine excellent persistence.
It pairs perfectly with stuffed veal, partridge with cabbage, or game birds.
