Description

What kind of wine it is

Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois from Château Malescasse is a red wine born in the commune of Lamarque. The result of a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, this glass is marked by its solid structure and silky tannins. Careful aging in wood gives it a precise and defined aromatic identity and delivers a sip of great balance.

Where it comes from

The wine is created in the Lamarque territory, strategically located between Margaux and Saint-Julien. The estate covers forty hectares on the right bank of the Gironde estuary, a historic production area. Recognised as a Cru Bourgeois within the Haut-Médoc, Château Malescasse expresses an authentic Bordeaux imprint in the glass.

How it is produced

The grapes are carefully selected and vinified with a process that keeps each plot separate. Fermentation and maceration take place in steel and cement vats for three to four weeks. After this, the wine matures for a whole year in oak barrels. The precise allocation between new wood, first and second passage barrels ensures a harmonious maturation.

Tasting notes

When poured, the glass displays a deep, concentrated ruby colour. The nose has direct violet notes, interwoven with clear references to ripe wild berries. On the palate, it shows significant volume without ever being heavy, supported by a texture of great finesse, and finishes with a long and consistent aftertaste.

Food pairings

Its natural fullness makes it the perfect option to accompany dishes with strong flavours. It finds a solid balance with rustic legume soups, pairing well with their earthy character. It excels when paired with red meats served with grilled vegetables, complementing the intensity of the meal with a round and persistent sip.

When to serve it

This red is ideally suited to lunches and dinners focusing on hearty recipes. It brings out its best within a structured menu and adds value to occasions of genuine conviviality. Its elegant structure makes it the ideal bottle when you are looking for a full-bodied wine to pair with flavourful courses and moments of sharing.
