Description
The Rio Lilo Monastrell is a red wine produced by Bodegas Alceño in the Jumilla appellation, in the southeast of Spain. It is made from Monastrell grapes grown on clay soils of the Altiplano at an altitude of 700 meters. The soil and climate conditions in this area contribute to a balanced development of the grapes and a slow, complete ripening, which is essential for obtaining wines of character.
The winemaking process respects the varietal identity of the Monastrell, with careful management of fermentation to enhance the structure and aromatic complexity.
On the nose, there are intense aromas of ripe cherry, followed by hints of dark berries, leather, and fresh tobacco leaves. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, round and well-balanced, with a lovely depth of flavor and soft yet present tannins that enhance its persistence.
Perfect when paired with grilled red meat, pork ribs, or spicy meat-based dishes.
