Description
Montecucco Rosso Riserva ColleMassari is produced on the Castello ColleMassari estate, located at the foot of Monte Amiata in the province of Grosseto.
It is made predominantly from Sangiovese grapes, together with Ciliegiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon, all hand-picked during the second decade of September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 27-30°C, with a maceration of 20-25 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 18 months in a mix of barrels, barriques, and tonneaux, half of which are new, and for a further 12 months in the bottle before being released to the market.
Montecucco Rosso Riserva ColleMassari is characterized by its intense ruby red color. The nose opens with fresh, vinous notes of cherry and wild berries, enriched with pleasant hints of sweet spices. On the palate, it is soft and inviting, with enveloping tannins perfectly balanced by the freshness of the acidic component.
Perfect for pairing with roasted and braised red meats, this wine is ideal with game and mature cheeses.
