Description
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Mazzarosa is produced in Casal Thaulero near Roseto degli Abruzzi.
With south-southwest exposure, the vines are relieved on gentle hill slopes and on clayey soils. After harvesting in the second or third week of October, the wine is de-stemmed and fermented to face a two-year barrel refinement of which four months in the bottle.
Beautiful intense ruby red with violet reflections, it opens on the nose with full and fruity hints of black cherry, cassis, accompanied by a slight spiciness. The red fruits and a light toasting return to the palate for a wine of great freshness, with a non-aggressive tannin that guarantees a soft and long-lasting sip.
Perfect to serve with vegetable soup, fresh pasta with meat sauces, red meats and pork.
