Description

The Morellino di Scansano Ghiaccioforte of Castello Romitorio comes from vineyards located in the heart of the municipality of Scansano. The vineyards from which this wine is made lie a few hundred meters away from the ancient ruins of the Etruscan settlement Ghiaccio Forte, named after the valiant Etruscan warrior who managed to resist the imperial expansion of Rome.

It is mainly produced with Sangiovese and Syrah grapes. The wine ages in barrique for 10 months, before being bottled.

It is characterized by a bright ruby red color. The nose opens with an intense bouquet of iris and rose, enriched with pleasant notes of fern. On the palate it is elegant, pleasantly full-bodied and well structured, with ripe tannins.

Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with stewed meats and roasts.
