Mosel Prädikatswein Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese 2019 Dr. Loosen
Description
The Urziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese comes from a single vineyard, grafted on a volcanic and sandy red soil, located in the German region of Moselle and known for giving a distinctive spicy trace in the wines that derive from it. By virtue of this particularity, this vineyard has gained the name of "spiced garden" over the years.
The grapes are harvested in a slightly overripe state and are carefully selected already at the time of the harvest. Vinification takes place partly in steel containers and partly in wooden containers. At the desired time, fermentation is stopped by lowering the temperature.
At sight it is straw yellow, with good brilliance. A fruity and spicy exuberance determines its intense aroma, which turns on notes of peach, papaya, apricot, gooseberry. The spice emerges in the nose as well as in the mouth, in which the body proves full and enveloping, without renouncing the freshness and flavor that perfectly balance the sugar residue. It closes in a very fine and persistent finish.
Excellent to combine with pork and cheeses. Try it in the company of a smoked artist.
