Description

Orgolio della Poderina is a certified organic Toscano IGP extra virgin olive oil, produced in Siena in the locality of Montalbuccio from Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino, and Leccio del Corno olives. It comes from an eight-hectare olive grove surrounding the La Poderina estate, in an area with a historical tradition of olive growing, where the mild climate and medium-textured soils promote a slow and harmonious ripening of the olives.

The olives are harvested in mid-October by hand, with the aid of sticks, combs, and mechanical shakers, then immediately cold-pressed after picking using a continuous process. Extraction takes place through natural decantation, and the oil is stored in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, under nitrogen, in order to maintain its integrity, freshness, and stability.

On appearance, it is initially dark green with golden reflections, evolving over time towards yellower tones. On the nose, it offers a pronounced aroma of freshly cut grass, accompanied by vegetal notes of artichoke, thistle, and almond; on the palate, it is fruity and well-balanced between bitter and spicy notes, with a rounded, elegant, and persistent finish.

Perfect raw on vegetables, pinzimonio, and bruschetta, it is also ideal in traditional Tuscan cuisine with legumes, soups, meats, and fish.
