Description
This Pessac-Léognan Rouge is the third wine from Domaine de Chevalier, a prestigious estate located in Léognan, at the heart of Graves, managed by the Bernard family since 1983. The estate spans 60 hectares of red grape vineyards and 7 of white grape vineyards, cultivated on gravelly soils with clay-gravel subsoil, lending elegance and complexity to the wines.
The blend predominantly combines Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, with manual harvesting in crates to preserve the integrity of the grapes. The vinification follows a style focused on balance and expressive purity, with aging that allows the wine to develop softness and freshness without losing the fruit's vivacity.
The wine has a bright ruby red color, with an intense nose of morello cherry and ripe small red fruits, enriched by a delicate touch of licorice. On the palate, it is full, smooth, and charming, characterized by great freshness and a harmonious, seductive finish.
It pairs ideally with roasted white meat dishes, noble poultry, and medium-aged cheeses.
