Description
Zensa's Nero di Troia is a red wine produced in the province of Foggia, in northern Apulia.
The grapes are harvested in October, then destemmed. Fermentation occurs with whole berries for 10 days in temperature-controlled steel tanks. This is followed by malolactic fermentation induced by lactic acid bacteria. Afterwards, 30% of the wine ages for 6 months in American oak barriques.
Ruby red in color with violet highlights, the nose reveals aromas of plum, cinnamon, black pepper, and tobacco. On the palate, the tannins are evident yet smooth.
Perfect with pasta dishes featuring meat sauces, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
