Description
Camiño Real by Guímaro is produced from selected vineyards over 50 years old located in the Amandi subzone of Ribeira Sacra. This red wine represents an authentic and territorial expression of inland Galicia. Made primarily from Mencía grapes, it is enriched with a percentage of indigenous varieties such as Brancellao, Merenzao, Sousón, and Caiño, grown on various soils and altitudes which contribute complexity and depth.
The harvest is carried out manually in small crates, with a vinification process that includes 60% destemmed grapes and 40% whole clusters. Fermentation and maceration last over 45 days in truncated conical oak vats. The aging takes place in a combination of 500-liter barrels and 5,000-liter wooden vats for between 10 months and one year.
It displays a brilliant garnet color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red and black fruits, floral notes and hints of spice and herbs, with a mineral undertone typical of the area. On the palate it is fresh, dynamic and well-balanced, with a fine tannic texture and a savory, profound persistence.
Ideal with grilled meats, roasts, or dishes based on mushrooms and legumes.
