Description
The Reserva of Marqués de Vitoria is a refined red wine from Rioja, made with Tempranillo grapes from vineyards located in Oyón, Álava, at about 450 meters above sea level. The controlled yield and favorable climatic conditions of the growing cycle allow for healthy, aromatic, and well-balanced grapes, ensuring consistently high quality.
Vinification takes place at a controlled temperature of 28 °C, followed by a minimum aging of 12 months in French and American oak barrels. The wine then continues its aging in the bottle, developing a complex and harmonious profile over time. This process enhances the qualities of the grape variety and highlights its structure and longevity.
The appearance is a bright cherry red color with a garnet evolution. The nose is striking for its intensity and complexity: an explosion of cocoa, dark chocolate, liquor bonbons, and toasted walnut, accompanied by spicy notes such as cloves, pepper, and hints of ripe fruit and cedar. On the palate, it is balanced, with fine tannins and good acidity, finishing with a dry, persistent, and slightly nutty end.
Ideal paired with lamb, baked salmon, pasta with tomato or cheese sauce, and vegetarian dishes such as porcini-stuffed zucchini.
