Description
What kind of wine is it
Poliziano's Rosso di Montepulciano is a red wine made from hand-harvested Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. It is conceived as a youthful, immediate expression of the house style, with a fruit-driven, easy-drinking profile. It offers a more direct entry to the terroir than the estate's more structured labels.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards in the municipality of Montepulciano, Tuscany. Hand harvesting allows for the selection of bunches for this label, which brings together Sangiovese and Merlot in a ready-to-drink wine.
How it is made
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for ten to twelve days. Maturation continues partly in barrique and partly in stainless steel tanks for about eight months before bottling. This shorter path compared with the estate's other labels preserves the fruit's freshness and immediacy.
Tasting notes
It shows a ruby red color. The nose opens with aromas of red fruits, lifted by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is youthful, full-bodied, and pleasantly fruity.
What it pairs with
This Rosso di Montepulciano is perfect with appetizers and cured meats. It pairs just as well with grilled red meats and aged cheeses, where its fruit-forward character and solid structure find a pleasing balance.
When to serve it
It is a versatile wine, suited to everyday meals and informal occasions thanks to its youthful, fruit-driven profile. It works well both as an accompaniment to appetizers and throughout the meal with grilled meat dishes.
