Rosso Piceno DOP Superiore Roggio del Filare 2013 Velenosi

Rosso Piceno Superiore Roggio del Filare di Velenosi comes from vineyards located in the municipalities of Offida and Ascoli Piceno.

It is produced 70% with Montepulciano grapes and 30% with Sangiovese grapes, harvested by hand in mid-October. After destemming, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for about 18 months before being bottled.

The Roggio del Filare is characterized by a bright and brilliant ruby red color, with light garnet reflections. The bouquet is intense and complex, with hints of dark and ripe fruits of plums and blackberries, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is pleasantly velvety in the pulp and powerful in the texture. Overall it is a warm, persistent, full-bodied and harmonious wine.

Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with roasts, game, stews and aged cheeses.
