Description

Bolgheri Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido was born in vineyards located in the splendid landscape of the Tuscan Maremma.

It is produced 85% with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 15% with Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested between the beginning of September and the first week of October. The vinification process, at a controlled temperature of 30 - 31 ° C, consists of 2 weeks of maceration on the skins with frequent pumping over and de-aging and malolactic fermentation in steel. The wine then ages in French oak barriques for 24 months and then ages in glass before being placed on the market.

Bolgheri Sassicaia is characterized by an intense and deep ruby red color. The bouquet is persuasive and elegant and opens with rich and ripe hints of red fruits, blueberry, black currant and cassis and fine notes of Mediterranean scrub, juniper, bay leaf and myrtle, which evolve into spicy and balsamic aromas. On the palate it is strong and concentrated, with a rich spiciness and notes of chocolate, vanilla, cinchona and fern, balanced by a vegetal touch that gives freshness. Overall it is a wine of great elegance, with fine and soft tannins.

Perfect to accompany game and game dishes, especially wild boar, it is perfect in combination with large roasts.
